PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Our customer is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.
IT is in the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.
Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo and Frankfurt, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
You’ll be part of the team responsible for the data core of the entire clearing division.
The data is received from various source systems to ultimately being combined into a large data lake that hosts the data for most of their (future) reporting applications and is currently already used for many of the analytical requirements from their operations departments.
The team is also responsible for many other data related applications like Tableau and Collibra.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the data tools within the data platform team. This includes patching, upgrading, configuration and communication with other teams on connectivity (like SSO)
- Keep an eye out for future technologies and options to further improve the governance of our data landscape with (potential) improved tools
- Collaborate with developers on software requirements
- Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible
- React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes
- Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- Relevant experience in maintaining, patching, installing and configuring the following tools: Tableau (on-premise) and Collibra
- Experience with other data related tooling to further improve the collaboration within the team: DBT or AWS Data Related Services (like Redshift, Athena, S3)
- Experience with the setup and the configuration of CI/CD pipelines in a Microservices architecture landscape
NICE TO HAVE:
- A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects
- Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing) and a deep understanding of computer science
- Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
- University degree in Computer Science/Engineering
- Understanding of financial services and risk management in general
- Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation, eager to learn new technologies and tools

- Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
