THE ROLE INVOLVES:
You’ll be working within our partner’s DB Services team, which support the bank’s clearing systems.
The role is responsible for Database management of the Clearing applications utilizing Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or MS-SQL technologies including performing administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, tuning, and support of the database environments.
This position will be within a team of existing DBAs that cover Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the Clearing database environment.
- Managing non-production, production and disaster recovery database environments.
- Working closely with support team colleagues to ensure that the associated hardware resources for the database environment are configured for optimum performance and availability.
- Proactively monitoring database environment to ensure minimum downtime.
- Providing regular trend analysis to track database performance and throughput, for capacity planning purposes.
- Responsible for enhancements, maintenance and upgrades to the database environment.
- Working with business, architecture, development and technical colleagues to manage and implement changes.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 4+ years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration.
- 2+ years of experience in installing PostgreSQL (Automation).
- PostgreSQL Performance Tuning Experience.
- Understanding of cluster file systems (GPFS/NFS).
- Working with RHEL Clusters, in the context of PostgreSQL Databases.
- Working with PostgreSQL Data Wrappers (preferred, not required).
- Understanding of network firewalls / protocols / interfaces.
- Basic understanding of Linux/ Bash file commands/ scripting.
- Exadata and ODA machine administration.
- Oracle OEM administration, patching, upgrades, architecture.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Exadata and ODA machine administration.

- Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
- A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects.
- Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation.
- Understanding of financial services and risk management in general.
- University degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
